This house is designed for a mother and her two children, prioritizing a sense of playfulness in both form and experience.

The concept stems from its surroundings—each room is a direct extrusion of a neighboring house, mirroring its physical dimensions and cladding style. These volumes, while distinct, are unified by a continuous floor and roof system that spans the entire site, adapting to the elevations of the individual forms. A series of colorful skylights further enhance the house’s playful character, casting dynamic light throughout the day.

The spaces between these volumes play a crucial role in fostering family interactions. At the heart of the house, the kitchen serves as a central gathering space, anchoring daily domestic rituals.

Beyond serving the family, the house extends its presence to the public. A staircase at the open ground level invites visitors to ascend to the fully accessible green roof, while a semi-sheltered hearth in the eastern corner offers warmth during colder months—transforming the rooftop into a welcoming community space.

STRATEGY: Each volume is ‘extruded’ directly from neighboring houses

PLAN: Triangle-shaped site + extruded volumes = fun spaces

SECTION: Emphasizing the continuous roof!
MODEL: 1/8”=1’
